Photoshop Paint Bucket Tool Not Working

Any help would be appreciated. Tags bucket fills layer paint top; Click anywhere in the image and the paint bucket will fill an area around the pixel you clicked.

The Fill Tool Is Located In Your Photoshop Toolbar On The Side Of Your Screen.

If i just draw a stupid simple circle though, i can fill that in just fine. Click on it and it gives you the option to reset the tool. My paint bucket in photoshop elements 5 has stopped working.

All My Lines Are Closed, I've Redrawn Them Countless Times, Nothing.

The Width Of The Column.

Why is my live paint bucket tool not working? What's happening here, and how can i fix it. The paint bucket tool changes those pixels that are the same as the pixel you click on, so in a gradient that is only a certain column.

The Second And The Most Common.

If your layer has a gradient, and you try to fill that with the paint bucket tool, then your are supposed to get only a column of new color. Reset the tool by clicking on it. You can see my fill settings at the top.
